Libelium has released a new enhanced intelligent parking sensor node.
Libelium, the Spanish developer of the Internet of things, unveiled a new enhanced Smart Parking Sensor Node at the Intertraffic Amsterdam, aiming to continue improving the quality of its wireless Sensor network.
Parking Sensor Supplier shares that libelium's new parking node has two different probe systems, including the dual-mode wireless communication protocol Sigfox/LoRaWAN, which can be installed over or under the road with dedicated modules.
The smart parking devices operate on a magnetic detection system that supports cloud-based software systems that assess the received signal strength indication (RSSI) of wireless network nodes.
If the vehicle is parked in a parking space, the system can perform relevant probes based on changes in the magnetic field and weakened reception capacity of wireless network signals. Under optimal conditions, the detection accuracy of the dual sensor system is up to 99%.
Sigfox is available in Latin America and the asia-pacific region in bands ranging from 915MHz to 923MHz. The system allows for simultaneous use of both radio technologies or switching between them from the cloud.
The new device is pre-programmed into the factory, and even if the user doesn't have programming skills, Libelium's Smart Devices app tells the configuration in seconds.
After node installation, Remote Setup System enables users to control and re-identify all parameters from the cloud. It is estimated that intelligent parking nodes have a maximum service life of 10 years and can operate without power failure, thanks to large capacity batteries and low-energy software algorithms.
Libelium's smart parking technology has been successfully installed in cities around the world, including Montpellier in France and dubai in the united Arab emirates.
