PDC (Parking Distance Control) is called "Reverse Anti-collision Radar", also called "Parking Aid Device". It is a safety auxiliary device for parking or reversing a car. It is composed of ultrasonic sensors (commonly known as probes), controllers and A display (or buzzer) and other components.
When reversing, help the driver to "see" what is not visible in the rearview mirror, to inform the driver of the obstacles around with a sound or more intuitive display, and to release the driver's parking, reversing and starting the vehicle. The PDC uses an ultrasonic sensor to detect the obstacle distance closest to the car and sounds a siren to warn the driver. The control of the siren sound is usually divided into two stages. When the distance of the vehicle reaches a certain starting distance, the siren sound starts to sound with a high-frequency siren, and when the vehicle travels to a closer distance. At the time, the siren sounds a continuous siren to inform the driver.
The advantage of the PDC is that the driver can use the hearing to obtain information about the obstacle, or the distance of the car. The PDC system is mainly to assist with parking, so the system function will be turned off when a certain speed is reached or exceeded.
Nowadays, the new car has begun to use the digital blind zone PDC reversing radar system. For example, the Hyundai PDC Sensor adopts the digital sensor design, so that there is no blind spot detection, sound and image (on the radio panel display) double warning. The working principle of the digital blind-free PDC reversing radar is that the PDC system is automatically activated when the reverse gear is engaged, and the four ultrasonic sensors embedded in the rear bumper of the vehicle start to detect the obstacle behind. When the obstacle is 1.2 meters away, the alarm system will make a "beep" sound. As the obstacle approaches, the frequency of the "beep" sound increases. When the distance between the car and the obstacle is less than 0.3 meters, "beep" "will turn into a continuous sound.
In addition, the parking lot sensor can also be oriented in an enclosed area, such as when the Geely parking sensor is in an emergency, helping to quickly deploy emergency personnel. In addition, the parking lot sensor can also be used to monitor vacant parking spaces in electric vehicle charging stations, which can be monitored by the system once someone has used the charging station as a parking space or when the time has elapsed beyond the permissible time limit.
